For bakers and chocolate lovers everywhere: announcing the famous Chocolate Affair! This delicious event will take place on Saturday, February 14 from 3-5 p.m. at World Fare, 37 N. Main Street, Three Rivers—just in time for Valentines Day! World Fare, a fair trade store featuring products from around the world (and especially cocoa and chocolate from farmers who make a livable wage) is hosting a bake-off, with voting-by-tasting of delicious chocolate desserts. Tasting and voting are held from 3-4:30 p.m. with several prizes up to a $50 gift certificate for the store announced at 4:45 p.m.

To bake, stop by the store to pick up an entry form and your canister of fair trade cocoa for only a $6.50 fee. Bring your loved ones with you to the event for the tasting and voting by $1 tickets and let the taste buds rule!

Also, we are hosting a bake sale for take-home goodies made with fairly traded ingredients, creative Valentine’s Day activities for children and proudly displaying fair trade chocolate, candy, nuts, coffee, and tea from around the world—great gifts for Valentine’s Day or any day! All proceeds help sustain World Fare, a non-profit, volunteer-run store that supports economically impoverished communities around the world through the sale of hand made and edible goods.

Join us for an afternoon of delicious tastes, scents and products which benefit far more than the locals; you’ll join us in caring for those disadvantaged farmers and growers around the world. For more information, contact Karen Hay at 816-4663.
