This delicious event will take place from 3-5 p.m. at World Fare—just in time for Valentines Day! The highlight of the event is a bake-off, with voting-by-tasting of delicious chocolate desserts. Tasting and voting are held from 3-4:30 p.m. with several prizes up to a $50 gift certificate for the store announced at 4:45 p.m.

Join us for an afternoon of delicious tastes, scents and products which benefit far more than the locals; you’ll join us in caring for those disadvantaged farmers and growers around the world.

New seasonal hours

Happy New Year everyone!  As per usual, World Fare is transitioning to our Winter/Spring hours now that the new year has begun.  The only change is that we are no longer open Sunday afternoons; we’re still open our normal Tuesday through Saturday hours.  Sunday hours will resume after Memorial Day.

Music for the holidays!

It’s snowing … have some hot cocoa!

It’s snowing … have some hot cocoa!

Just in time for the first snow in Three Rivers, we just received a new shipment of tasty food items from Equal Exchange — including hot cocoa!  Stop on in and grab organic hot cocoa or spicy cocoa in 12 ounce canisters for $7.75.  Or you can save money and buy the organic hot cocoa in bulk for just $.50 per ounce. They’re all tasty options to welcome in our new winter weather!

World Fare celebrates 10 years of fair trade

In 2003, the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored a ribbon-cutting at 37 N. Main Street in Three Rivers for a unique new shop, one run by volunteers and featuring goods from economically disadvantaged communities around the world.  Ten years later, World Fare is going strong, connecting local volunteers with global neighbors in mutually beneficial trade relationships.  The public is invited to celebrate ten years of fair trade with World Fare on Sunday, September 1.  The shop will be open noon-8:00 p.m. during the HarmonyFest music festival, with 10% off all purchases all day.  A special “Storm the Store” party will take place from 3:00-3:30 p.m. with a toast, birthday cupcakes, coffee and tea, a special poem reading and a photo of past and present volunteers.

Ten years ago

Our local newspaper, the Three Rivers Commercial-News, has a feature called “Yesterday” that highlights stories from the paper 10, 25 and 50 years ago.  It was exciting to see World Fare in today’s paper!
